My mom has just finished teaching the spring semester, and that means it's time to start the garden and tree transplanting. With the land we live on, anyone in the family who is interested in growing something just has to say, "That spot there? Mine." At this point, Mom and I are the most interested in planting, she in her vegetable garden, and me in flowers and vines to cover the hillside that is our driveway.
I also decided I wanted to start growing a herb garden. And Rivi? I'm planting lavender.
So the two of us went out today, and looked at various stores for different seeds and tools, since the garden was ignored last year.
After we got home, and were walking the dogs, we planned which flowers we wanted in which spots on the driveway and around the house to give it more color. This is going to be my project, but it's my parents house so whatever.
I also had time to plan out my herb garden in general plots, but I haven't decided yet what I'm putting where. I also need to remember this year to get cuttings from Rivi's lilacs. It wasn't so much that I forgot, as I was not really over at her house at this time last year. But I will remember, and soon I will have a driveway lined with flowers, and a herb garden in the front yard.
If you could not tell, I have very bad spring fever at the moment. But I don't care! There will be color dammit!
